From the Discovery to the Foundation of the USA: A Story of Freedom or A Catastrophe?

This study deals with the history of the United States of America from the discovery of the American continent in 1492 to the formal independence in 1783. In the introduction, the real meaning of the discovery of the "New World" and the independence of the U.S. is analyzed. In the first chapter, the colonial period is evaluated in accordance with the chronological process, and the main factors shaping this process are emphasized. In the second chapter, the historical process of preparing the American Revolution which is considered as an end of the colonial period is dealt with through the American Revolt and the War of Independence. Final chapter seeks to answer how the Revolution was built and effected the U.S. and rest of the world. It still remains questionable whether the history of the U.S., the American Revolution and the rise of the U.S. in a very short period of time is a story of freedom or a catastrophe.
