AĞIZ, DİŞ VE ÇENE CERRAHİSİ VE COVID-19 PANDEMİSİ: PROSEDÜRLER VE ENFEKSİYON KONTROL SÜRECİ YÖNETİMİ

Ağız, Diş ve Çene Cerrahisi, pandemi dönemi de dahil olmak üzere ertelenmesi mümkün olmayan acil yakla-şımlar ve özellikli operasyonlar içermesi nedeniyle özel olarak irdelenmesi gereken alanların başında gelmektedir. Bu makalede; COVID-19 pandemi döneminde, hastaların lokal ve genel anestezi altında gerçekleştirilecek ağız, diş ve çene cerrahisi operasyonları sürecinin hasta ve çalışan sağlığı, enfeksiyon kontrolü açısından değerlendirilmesi ve güncel bilgilerin tartışılması amaçlanmaktadır. Ağız Diş ve Çene Cerrahisinde yapılacak olan cerrahi operasyonlar; hastaya, işlemin niteliği veya mevcut im-kanlara göre lokal anestezi altında klinik koşullarda veya genel anestezi altında ameliyathanelerde yapılabilmek-tedir. COVID-19 salgın hastalığı süresince etkin vaka yönetiminin yapılabilmesi için gerekli strateji ve uygun tedavi yaklaşımlarını tanımlamak gerekmektedir.

Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and COVID-19 Pandemic: Procedures and Infection Control Process Management

Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery is one of the areas that should be specially examined due to the fact that it includes urgent approaches and special operations that cannot be postponed, including the pandemic period. In this article; During the COVID-19 pandemic period, it is aimed to evaluate the process of oral and maxillofacial surgery operations to be performed under local and general anesthesia in terms of patient and employee health, and infection control and to discuss current information. Current evidence shows that COVID-19 is transmitted between people through close contact and droplets. Those most at risk of acquiring this disease are those who come into contact with or care for the patient. Dentistry branch is considered as high risk in terms of contamination due to its intense contact with the patient. Therefore, healthcare professionals who care for these patients are considered to be at high risk for this infection and the protection of healthcare workers is considered one of the top priorities. Surgical operations can be performed in clinical conditions under local anesthesia or in operating rooms under general anesthesia, depending on the patient, the nature of the procedure or the available possibilities. During the COVID-19 pandemic, it is necessary to define the strategies and appropriate treatment approaches for effective case management.
