Alkaline kraft pulping is most common chemical pulping process in the world at the present time. But it has some problems that are related to air and water pollution with the very high investment and operational costs. The problems related to kraft pulping may be partly solved by using various techniques. Many new pulping process have been developed in labaratory studies that indicates' new features and advantages. In this study, base-catalyzed organic solvents that have been using for pulping of biomass such as; methanol enforced kraft, organocell and IDE organic solvet pulping processes were studied.
