Psödotümör Serebride Tekrarlayan Lomber Ponksiyonlar Risk midir?
Psödotümör serebri, kitle veya başka bir neden olmaksızın kafa içi basınç artışı ile karakterize bir sendromdur. En sık başvuru semptomu başağrısıdır. Baş dönmesi, bulantı ve kusma, çift görme ve diğer görme şikayetleri de sık görülen diğer semptomlardır. Psödotümör serebri ile chiari malformasyon birlikteliği özellikle lumboperitoneal şant sonrası bildirilmektedir. Burada, psödotümör serebri tanısı alan 11 aylık bir erkek çocukta tekrarlayan lomber ponksiyonlara ikincil gelişen chiari malformasyonu takdim edildi.
Are Recurrent Lumbar Punctures Risky in Pseudotumor Cerebri?
Pseudotumor cerebri is a syndrome characterized by increased intracranial pressure (ICP) in the absence of mass or other causes. The most common presenting symptom is headache. Dizziness, nausea and vomiting, double vision and other visual symptoms are other common manifestations. Co-existence of the Chiari malformation and pseudotumor cerebri is reported especially after lumboperitoneal shunting procedures. Here, we report a Chiari malformation that developed secondary to recurrent lumbar punctures in an 11-month-old boy diagnosed with pseudotumor cerebri
