Semi-active H\infty robust control of six degree of freedom structural system using MR damper

In this study, H\infty robust control is designed for vibration attenuation of six DOF structure using MR damper. A semi-active seismically excited, nonlinear structural system is modelled. The controller is designed for a reduced order model and applied to the full order model. The controller performance is verified experimentally. It is shown that the H\infty controller performance is satisfactory to suppress the vibration of the structure despite the presence of uncertainties.
