Ağız Taban Yerleşimli Epidermoid Kist: Olgu Sunumu

Epidermoid kistler, vücudun her yerinde görülebildiği gibi baş-boyun bölgesinde de yerleşim gösterebilirler. Ağız tabanında dilaltı yerleşimli epidermoid kistler literatürde sınırlı sayıda rapor edilmiştir. Bunlar iyi huylu kitleler olup çoğu zaman herhangi bir semptom ve bulgu vermezler. Ancak, boyutları artıp kitle etkisiyle komşu anatomik yapılara bası yaparak çiğneme, yutma ve konuşma fonksiyonlarını aksatarak değişik semptom ve bulgulara yol açabilirler. Sublingual yerleşimli epidermoid kistler intra ve ekstraoral yaklaşımla tedavi edilebilir. Mümkün olduğu durumlarda intraoral yaklaşımın tercih edilmesi ile ilerde gelişebilecek olası estetik problemlerden de kaçınılabilir. Bu çalışmada, nadir görülen ağız taban yerleşimli epidermoid kist olgusuna ait klinik veriler güncel literatür bilgileri eşliğinde sunulmuştur.

Epidermoid Cyst Located on the Floor of the Mouth: Case Report

Epidermoid cysts, as can be seen in every part of the body may also settle in the head and neck region. In the recent literature, few studies have reported on the epidermoid cysts, which are located at the base of the mouth under the tongue. Epidermoid cysts located in the floor of the mouth are benign masses and often do not cause any signs or symptoms. However, they may lead to chewing, swallowing and/or speech dysfunction by compressing the adjacent anatomical structures. Sublingual epidermoid cysts can be treated by intra and extraoral approach. When intraoral approach is preferred potential aesthetic problems that may develop in the future can be avoided. In this study, the clinical data of a rarely seen case of epidermoid cyst are presented in the review of the current literature.
