Hastanemiz yenidoğan ünitesine Haziran 1991 Ocak 1995 yılları arasında yatırılan 1100 yenidoğandan perinatal asfiksi tanısıyla takip edilen 92 bebek 8 36 retrospektif olarak değerlendirildi Hastalarda perinatal asfiksi için risk faktörleri araştırıldığında en sık karşılaşılan sorunlar uzamış veya zor doğum eylemi gestasyon yaşına göre düşük doğum ağırlığı gebelik toksemisi ve anormal prezantasyon idi Her hastada hipoksik iskemik ansefalopatinin klinik bulguları belirlenerek ansefalopatinin şiddetine göre evrelendirildi Kırkaltı hasta 50 ansefalopatinin birinci evresinde 19 hasta 21 ikinci evresinde 27 hasta 29 ise üçüncü evresinde kabul edildi 92 hastadan 31 i 34 takip sırasında öldü Ölen olgulardan 2 si evre I 4 3 ü evre II 16 ve 26 sı evre III 96 ansefalopati nedeniyle izleme alınmışlardı Taburcu edilen olgulardan 18 inin 12 si evre I 6 sı evre II ansefalopati ilk 2 yaş döneminde yapılan kontrollerinde 6 olguda serebral palsi nöro motor gelişme geriliği ve mikrosefali gibi nörolojik komplikasyonlar gözlendi Ayrıca 18 olgunun 17 sinde yapılan otoakustik emisyon objektif işitme testleri normal olarak değerlendirildi Anahtar kelimeler: Perinatal Asfiksi Hipoksik İskemik Ansefalopati

Ninety two of 1100 neonates 8 36 admitted to the Newborn Unit between June 1991 January 1995 and followed with the diagnosis of perinatal asphyxia were reviewed retrospectively The major risk factors for perinatal asphyxia were prolonged or difficult labor intrauterine growth retardation preeclampsia eclampsia and abnormal presentation Clinical findings concerning hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy were determined and graded for every patient Forty six patients 50 were in grade 1 19 patients 21 in grade II and 27 patients 29 in grade III Thirty one 34 of 92 cases died during hospitalization Two 4 of the deaths occurred in cases with grade I encephalopathy 3 16 in grade II and 26 96 in grade III Eighteen cases could be followed up during the first two years Twelve of them had grade I findings and 6 had grade II findings of encephalopathy Some neurological complications like cerebral palsy neuromotor developmental retardation and microcephaly were observed in 6 of these cases Hearing functions of 17 patients were examined by otoacoustic emission tests and all results were evaluated as normal Key words: Perinatal Asphyxia Hypoxic Ischemic Encephalopathy
