Çocuk istismarı ve ihmali toplumlarda ne boyutta olduğu iyi bilinmeyen çoğu kere gizli kalan mağdurlarının pek fazla dile getirmediği bir sağlık problemidir İstismara uğramış çocukların pek çoğu tıbbi yardım alamamaktadır Acil servise getirilenler ise genellikle durumu ağır hayati tehlikesi olan olgulardır Çocuk ihmal ve istismarı olasılığı pediatrik acilde akla gelmediği sürece tanınmamaktadır Bu yazıda çocuk istismar ve ihmaline dikkat çekmek üzere çocuk istismar ve ihmalinin değişik yakınma ve bulgularıyla son üç yılda çocuk acil ünitemize başvuran üç çocuk olgu sunulmuştur Anahtar Kelimeler: çocuk ihmal istismar pediatrik acil

Child abuse and neglect is a health problem the extent of which is not well known in the society It is mostly kept as a secret and not declared by the abused or neglected children Most of the abused and neglected children can not receive medical help However only few children who are severely ill and exhibit life threatening conditions are brought to the pediatric emergency unit and receive medical aid In the pediatric emergency unit child abuse and neglect can not be detected unless it is taken into consideration In this case report three children who were admitted to our pediatric emergency unit during the last three years with various complaints and symptoms of child abuse and neglect have been presented in order to draw attention to the possibility of child abuse and neglect Key words: abuse child neglect pediatric emergency
