Denizli'deki 13-14 yaş okul çocuklarında alerjik hastalık belirtilerinin yaygınlığı

Amaç: Bu çalışma Denizli'deki 13-14 yaş okul çocuklarında alerjik hastalık ve belirtilerinin yaygınlığım değerlendirmek, Türkiye'deki diğer iller ve diğer ülkelerde yapılan çalışmaların sonuçlarıyla karşılaştırmak için yapılmıştır. Gereç ve Yöntem: Bu çalışma Denizli'de 16 ilkokulda yaşlan 13-14 olan 3200 çocuğa Türkçeye çevrilmiş olan "International Study of Asthma and Allergy in Childhood (ISAAC)" anketi kullanılarak yapılmıştır. Bulgular: Çalışmayı 3004 çocuk anketi kendisi doldurarak tamamlamıştır ve %93,8 basarı elde edilmiştir. Hayat boyu hışıltı, doktor tanılı astım, hayat boyu rinit, doktor tanılı allerjik rinit, hayat boyu kaşıntılı kızarıklık ve doktor tanılı ekzemanın yaygınlığı sırasıyla %10,2, %2,1, %34,2, %4,3, %20,8 ve %2,1 bulunmuştur. Çıkarımlar: Alerjik hastalık belirtilerinin yaygınlığı Türkiye'deki diğer iller ve diğer ülkelere göre düşük bulunmuştur.

The prevalance of symptoms related to allergic diseases in 13-14 yr-old school children in Denizli

Aim: This study aims to evaluate the prevalence of symptoms related to allergic diseases in 13-14- yr-old school children in Denizli and to make comparisons between other cities in Turkey and in other countries. Material and Method: A total of 3200 children aged 13-14 years attending 16 primary schools in Denizli were surveyed using the ISAAC questionnaire. Results: A total of 3004 children completed the questionnaires selfly. The prevalance of ever wheezing, ever doctor-diagnosed asthma, ever rhinitis, ever doctor-diagnosed allergic rhinitis, ever itchy-rash and ever doctor-diagnosed atopic dermatitis were 10.2%, 2.1%, 34.2%, 4.3%, 20.8% and 2.1%, respectively. Conclusions: The prevalence of symptoms related to allergic diseases in Denizli were lower than in other cities in Turkey and in other countries.
