Osmanlı Devleti valilerinden olan Mehmed Ali Paşanın 183 fdeki isyanının nedenleri, safhaları ve sonuçlan pek çok eserde yer almaktadır. Fakat meseleye tanıklık eden insanların bıraktıkları eser sayısı nadirdir. Bu makalede Mısır meselesinin halledilmesi için Rus Çan I. Nikola tarafından Osmanlı Devleti ile asi vali arasında arabulucu tayin edilen General N. N: Mııravyev'iıı konu ile ilgili kaleme aldığı hatıraları ve Mehmed Ali Paşa ile İskenderiye'de yaptığı görüşmeden sonra saraya sunduğu raporun kısa bir değerlendirmesi yapıldıktan sonra önemine binaen transkribi verilmiştir.

The reasons, phases and outcomes of the revolt of Mehmed AH Pasha, one of the governors of the Ottoman State, in 1831 have been included in many written works. But, documents from the ones who were witnesses of that issue are rare. This paper presents written memories of General Muravyev by himself, who was appointed as a mediator between the Ottoman State and the rebellous governor by Russian Czar Nicola I in order to solve the Egyptian question, and focuses on the report which Muravyev submitted to the Sultan after his negotiation with Mehmed AH Pasha in Alexandria. This article is the first attemt to publish the report in a full text.
