The Anatomical And Histological Structure Of The Male Reproductive System Of Pieris rapae L. Lepidoptera: Pieridae

In this study has examined the male internal reproductive system of adult Pieris rapaeanatomically and histologically. Observations have been made by means of light microscope taking8µm crosssections from samples in the paraffined embedding medium for the histological examination. The internal reproductive system of the maleP. rapaeconsists of the following: a testis without lobe, apair of vas deferens, a pair of vesicula seminalis, a pair of accessory glands, a pair of ejaculatory ducts,an ejaculator duct and cuticular simplex. These structures had been observed anatomically. Thefollicles in the testis cannot be distinguished anatomically. Various developmental phases of thespermatogenesis have been observed in the testis and ejaculator canal
