The effect of coronary artery bypass grafting on aortic functions

Amaç: Bu çalışmada koroner arter baypas greftleme(KABG)nin aortik fonksiyonlar üzerindeki etkisiincelendi.Ça­lış­ma­pla­nı:­ Aynı cerrahi ekip tarafındankardiyopulmoner baypas ile KABG ameliyatı yapılançokdamar koroner arter hastalığı (KAH) olan ardışık32 hasta (ort. yaş 61.6±9.4 yıl) çalışmaya alındı.Hastalığın şiddeti Gensini skor indeksi ile hesaplandı.Aortik kesit uyumu, aortik esneklik ve aortik sertleşmegibi aortik fonksiyon indeksleri ekokardiyografi ileameliyat öncesi dönemde ve ameliyat sonrası üçüncüve altıncı aylarda hesaplandı.Bul gu lar: Aortik fonksiyonlar yüksek Gensini skoru(ortalama 98.3±38.1) ile ciddi veya yaygın KAHsi olanhastalarda ameliyat sonrası dönemde iyileşti. Koroner arter baypas greftlemenin aort fonksiyonları üzerine etkisi

Background:­ This study aims to investigate the effectof coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) on aorticfunctions.Methods: Thirty-two consecutive patients (mean age 61.6±9.4years) with multi-vessel coronary artery disease (CAD) whounderwent CABG surgery with cardiopulmonary bypassby the same surgical team were included in this study. Theseverity of the disease was calculated by the Gensini scoreindex. Aortic function indices such as aortic cross-sectionalcompliance, aortic distensibility, and aortic stiffness indexwere calculated by echocardiography preoperatively, and atthird and six months postoperatively.Results:­ Aortic functions of patients with severe or extensiveCAD with high Gensini score (mean 98.3±38.1) improvedat postoperative period.
