KALABALIK SINIFLARDA ÖĞRENCİ MERKEZLİ ÖĞRETİM UYGULAMASI ETKİNLİKLERİNİN DEĞERLENDİRİLMESİ: ÖĞRETİMDE PLANLAMA VE DEĞERLENDİRME DERSİ ÖRNEĞİ
Eğitim Fakültelerinde okutulan öğretmenlik bilgisi derslerinin her biri öğretmen adaylarının etkin olmasını gerektirmektedir.
AN EVALUATION OF THE APPLICATION OF STUDENT-CENTERED EDUCATION IN CROWDED CLASSROOMS: INSTRUCTIONAL PLANNING AND EVALUATION COURSE EXAMPLE
Pedagogical courses taught in Teacher Education Faculties require teacher candidates to be active throughout the courses. However, crowded classes obstruct the courses to be effective. For this reason, finding solutions to this problem is very crucial. In this study, a framework of a student-centered education in crowded classrooms within the scope of the Instuctional Planning and Evaluation course was presented and effectiveness of this course taught with reference to this framework was evaluated. This evaluation study included needs assessment, formative and summative evaluations. To cover all aspects of these three evaluation stages, Stufflebeam’s Context, Input, Process and Product evaluation model was used. The results revealed that this redesigned course was effective in students’ development in terms of teaching skills. Most of the students attained the course objectives and gained basic teaching skills. Moreover, students’ presentations were found as the most effective activitiy of this course. Due to these presentations, students could have learned how to be a teacher and how to behave.
