The reign of Abdülhamit the Second is not an appropriate period for the theater plays to be written or performed, however some writers wanted to expose the phenomena of the period to the next generations by writing , in play form, the disasters they lived. Writers such as Namık Kemal and Abdülhak Hamit wrote plays to be read and it certainly affected other writers. Mustafa Hamdi of Silistre’s “ Afv Ile Mahkum Yahut Şeref Kurbanları” is also a play written to be read and is a documentary work. The author referred not only his own exile life but also many political and historical phenomena ofthe period
