A Rare Cause of Dysphagia: Diffuse Idiopathic Skeletal Hyperostosis

Diffuse idiopathic skeletal hyperostosis syndrome (DISH) is enchondral ossification of the paravertebral ligaments which is independent of trauma, infection and degenerative events and without a definitive known etiology. Although other bones can be involved, mostly vertebral involvement is seen. Diagnosis depends on radiological examination. In patients with cervical involvement, difficulty in swallowing, neck movements and inspriation can be seen. Here in, we will report a 63 year old man who examined for dysphagia and diagnosed as DISH. Key words: Diffuse; İdiopathic; Skeletal; Hyperostosis; Dysphagia.
