Türkiye’de Enerji Enflasyonunun Enflasyon Oranları Üzerindeki Etkisi

Bu çalışmada Türkiye’de enerji fiyatlarındaki değişimin enflasyon oranları üzerindeki etkisini ince-lemek ve bu bağlamda Türkiye’nin enerji ithalatına bağımlı olmasından yola çıkarak enerji üre-timinin önemi üzerinde durmak amaçlanmıştır. Bu amaçla çalışmada, 2003:01–2021:11 dönemi arasındaki aylık veriler kullanılarak enerji enflasyonunu temsilen elektrik, gaz ve diğer yakıtların yıllık yüzde değişimi (%) ve enflasyon oranlarını temsilen ise tüketici fiyat endeksinin yıllık yüzde değişimi (%) değişkenleri kullanılmıştır. Değişkenlerde yapısal kırılmaların olabileceğinden hare-ketle serilere öncelikle Bai-Perron Çoklu Kırılma analizi yapılmıştır. Yapısal kırılmaların tespitinin ardından eşbütünleşme analizine geçmeden önce serilerin durağanlığı Narayan ve Popp (2010) Çift Kırılmalı Birim Kök Testi ile incelenmiştir. Değişkenlerin seviyelerinde durağan olmamaların-dan hareketle eşbütünleşme testine geçilmiştir. Bu doğrultuda değişkenlerin uzun dönemli iliş-kisinin tespit edilmesinde tek kırılmayı dikkate alan Gregory ve Hansen (1996) Testi ile iki kırılmayı dikkate alan Hatemi-J (2008) Testi yapılmıştır. Analizler sonucunda değişkenlerin uzun dönemde birlikte hareket ettiği sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.

Effect of Energy Inflation on Inflation Rates in Turkey

This study aimed to examine the effect of the change in energy prices on inflation rates in Turkey and to emphasize the importance of energy production based on Turkey's dependence on energy imports. For this purpose, the annual percentage change in electricity, gas, and other fuels (%) to represent energy inflation and the annual percentage change (%) of consumer price index to rep-resent inflation rates were used in the study, using monthly data between 2003:01 and 2021:11. Considering that there may be structural breaks in the variables, Bai-Perron Multiple Breakage analysis was performed first on the series. After detecting the structural breaks, the stationarity of the series was examined by Narayan and Popp (2010) Double Break Unit Root Test before pro-ceeding to the cointegration analysis. Considering that the variables are not stationary at their levels, the cointegration test was started. In this direction, the Gregory and Hansen (1996) test, which takes into account the single break, and the Hatemi-J (2008) test, which takes into account the two breaks, were used to determine the long-term relationship of the variables. As a result of the analysis, it was concluded that the variables act together in the long run.
