Özel eğitim ve rehabilitasyon merkezlerinde ailelere yönelik sosyal hizmet uygulaması: Bir değerlendirme araştırması

Bu araştırma, işitme engelli çocuklara ve ailelerine hizmet veren bir işitme ve konuşma engelliler özel eğitim ve rehabilitasyon merkezinde yapılmıştır. Araştırmanın amacı, özel eğitim ve rehabilitasyon merkezlerinde ailelere yönelik sosyal hizmet uygulamalarında ne ölçüde başarı sağlandığını ve bu uygulamaların başarısını etkileyen etmenleri değerlendirmektir. Araştırmada önce, merkezden hizmet alan ve ilköğretime devam eden 12 işitme engelli çocuk ve aileleriyle sosyal hizmet uygulaması yürütülmüş, izleyen aşamada mesleki uygulamanın sonuçları değerlendirilmiştir. Bu kapsamda çalışmanın ilk aşamasında görüşmeler yoluyla ailelerin ihtiyaç ve sorunları belirlenmiştir. Daha sonra bu ihtiyaçlar önceliklerine göre sıralanmış ve öncelikli üç ihtiyacın karşılanmasına yönelik üç amaç belirlenmiştir. Araştırma sürecinde ailelerle bu amaçlara ulaşmaya yönelik mesleki çalışma yürütülmüştür. Ailelerin amaçlara ulaşmadaki başarısı Amaca Ulaşma Ölçeği ile değerlendirilmiştir. Ailelerle yürütülen mesleki çalışmanın sonucunda, ailelerin çalışmaya katılma konusundaki motivasyonları, araştırmacının mesleki becerileri ve mesleki çalışmanın yürütüldüğü merkezin koşulları mesleki çalışmanın başarısına etki eden etmenler olmuştur. Ailelerin amaca ulaşmadaki başarısı sosyal hizmet uygulamalarının da başarılı olduğunu göstermektedir. Ayrıca bu çalışma, özel eğitim ve rehabilitasyon merkezlerindeki sosyal hizmet uygulamalarının işitme engelli çocuk ve ailelerine yarar sağladığını göstermektedir.

Social work practice with families in special education and rehabilitation centres: an evaluation research.

This study has been conducted for hearing- for speaking impaired children in a special education and rehabilitation center where services are given to them. The goal of this study is to evaluate the success of the social work practice for the families in special education and rehabilitation centers and the factors that affect the success of this practice. In this study, firstly, social work practice has been carried out with 12 hearing impaired children and their families who are getting service from "Center" and are going on primary school, and then outcomes of the practice were evaluated. In this context, at the first step of the study, the needs and problems of the families were determined. And then, these needs were ranked according to their priorities and three goals determined in order to be met this three needs. In the research process, professional work has been carried out with families in order to achieve these three goals. The success of the families in achieving these goals was determined with Goal Attainment Scaling. The motivation of the families on attending the study, the professional skills of the researcher (social worker) and the conditions of the special education centres affected the success of the study. The success of the families in achieving goals shows the success of social work practice. In addition, this study shows social work practice in special education and rehabilitation centres which are beneficial to hearing impaired children and their families.
