Antik dönemlerden günümüze kadar, insanoğlu, korunma,,örtünme ve süslenme amacıyla giyinmeye ihtiyaç duymuştur. Giyim, ilk çağlarda insanların, hayvanların kürk ve derilerini dikiş işlemine ihtiyaç duymaksızın giymesiyken, tarihsel süreçte teknolojik gelişmelerin toplumlar üzerinde yarattığı değişimlerle günümüze kadar form ve işlev değiştirerek gelmiştir. Bilgi çağının yaşandığı günümüzde, bilgi toplumunun üyesi olan bireyin giyimden beklentileri de hız, teknoloji ve zaman kavramlarındaki değişimle birlikte farklılaşmıştır. Dikişsiz giyim kavramı, bilgi çağının yaşandığı günümüzde, moda tasarımının endüstri ürünü ve mimari ile entegre edilmesi çabalarıyla sürdürülmektedir. Bu çalışmada dokuma tezgahında şekillendirilerek dikiş işlemine gerek kalmaksızın kendi içinde işlev değiştirebilen ve beş parçadan oluşan modüler giyim önerisi ele alınmaktadır. Deneysel olarak ele alınan bu çalışma kapsamında, bilgi toplumunun değişen tüketim ölçütleri ile bireysel tercihlere bağlı zaman ve mekan kavramlarından bağımsız bir giyim kavramının vurgulanması amaçlanmaktadır.

Mankind felt the need to dress in order to adorn, be protected and covered up from antique eras up to date. In the early ages, dressing was perceived as using the animal fur and skin without seaming, whereas it has advanced from the form and functionality point of view by the effect of technological enhancements in the society during the historical course. In this time of the information era, the expectation of an individual has changed due to evolutions in speed, technology and time concepts. Seamless clothing concept is being maintained in this time of the information era by the endeavors in integrating fashion design with industrial products and architecture. This study addresses a five-piece, auto-functional modular clothing idea formed in a weaving loom. The aim in this experimental study is to emphasize a clothing idea that is independent of time and place concepts from the perspective of the information society with changing consumption criterion.
