Bu çalışmada, dünya fındık üretiminde ilk sırada yer alan Türkiye’de yaygın olarak fındık yetiştiriciliğinin yapıldığı I. ve II. standart bölgelerdeki işletmelerin kar etkinlikleri araştırılmıştır. Bu amaçla, stokastik translog kar fonksiyonu yaklaşımı kullanılmıştır. Model tahmin sonuçlarından, I. ve II. standart bölgelerdeki işletmelerin ortalama kar etkinsizliklerinin sırasıyla 0.38 ve 0.19 olduğu hesaplanmıştır. Bu sonuç, işletmelerde teknik ve dağılım etkinsizliklerinin önemini vurgulamaktadır. Kar etkinsizliği modelinde;  üreticinin yaşı ve eğitim düzeyi, tarım dışı gelirinin olup olmaması, parsel sayısı ve işletmede yer verilen fındık çeşidi bağımsız değişken olarak modele dahil edilmiştir.

In this study, it was mainly aimed to investigate hazelnut producers’ profit inefficiencies in Turkey, which is theleader position in the world hazelnut production. For this purpose, the data were gathered from the importanthazelnut production areas, called 1st and 2nd standard areas, and analyzed by using stochastic translog profitfunction. For this purpose, stochastic translog profit frontier model was utilized. In the profit inefficiency models;producer’s age, education level, existence of non-farming income, number of parcels, variety of hazelnut producedin farm were included as explanatory variables. From the estimation results, firms’ average profit inefficiencies for1st and 2nd standard areas were calculated as 0.38 and 0.19, respectively. These results emphasize the importance ofexistence of allocative and technical inefficiencies of firms.
