Bu makale, XVIIl.yüzylla ait Antakya şerCiyye sicillerinin tümünün incelenmesi sonucunda, Antakya 'nııı yönetimi ve düzeni ile ilgili seçilmiş bazı örnek belgeler kullamlarak oluşturulmuş bir çalışmadır. Esas amacımız, X VIII.yüzyıl Antakya 'sında yönetici zümre arasında olduğunu tespit ettiğimiz şeyhlerin, Antakya köyleri idaresindeki yerine, merkez ve köy aluilısi ile olan ilişkilerine, uygulamalarına, olaylara müdalıale tutumlarına, olumlu ve olumsuz yönlerine değinerek bilgiler sunmaktır.

This artiele is a study based on some of the exemplary documents selected on the administration and order of the Antioch administration after the review of the records of the Ottoman canoııical court and canOlıical records. Our maiıı purpose is to determine and provide information on the place of Sheiks, whom we have observed to have existed among the administrative groups in Antioch in the 18'h Celltury, in the adminisration of the vil/ages of Antioelı, their relations with the city and vil/age dwellers, their implementation, their reactions to the incidents, their positive and negative aspects.
