Ak-Koyunlu Ahmed Bey, Uğurlu Mehmed Bey'in oğludur. Uğurlu Mehmed Uzun Hasan Bey'in en büyük oğlu olup Şirâz valisi idi ve babasından sonra Ak-Koyunlu hükümdarı olmak istiyordu. Yaş itibari ile de bunu kendi hakkı olarak görüyordu. Fakat buna, Uzun Hasan Bey'in hanımı olan üvey annesi Selçukşah Begüm engel oldu. O Uğurlu Mehmed'i daima Uzun Hasan Bey'e kötülemekteydi. Bunun sonucunda, Uzun Hasan Bey oğluna karşı soğudu. Daha sonra Uğurlu Mehmed babasına isyan ederek Osmanlılar'a sığındı. Fâtih Sultan Mehmed Uğurlu Mehmed'i iyi karşılayarak, onu kızı Gevherhan Sultan ile evlendirdi. Göde Ahmed bu evlilikten dünyaya geldi. Uğurlu Mehmed, babasına karşı giriştiği isyanda öldürüldü. Bunun üzerine Fâtih Sultan Mehmed torunu Ahmed Bey'i İstanbul'a aldırdı. Ahmed Bey İstanbul'da Osmanlı terbiye ve eğitimi ile yetiştirildi. Ahmed Bey Ak-Koyunlu hükümdarı olduktan sonra Osmanlı yönetim sistemini ülkesinde uygulamak istedi. Fakat, buna karşı olan aşiret emirleri ona itaatsizlik ettiler. Bunun sonucunda da, onunla yaptıkları savaşta Ahmed Bey'i öldürdüler.

Ahmed Beg Aq-Qoyunlu was the son of Uğurlu Mehmed. The eldest son of Uzun Hasan Beg, Uğurlu Mehmed governed the city of Şhiraz and he wanted to be the sovereign of the Aq-Qoyunlu State after the death of his father. On account of his age, he saw this as his right. Neverthless, his stepmother Selçukşah Begüm, the wife of Uzun Hasan Beg, prevented this. She always slandered Uğurlu Mehmed to Uzun Hasan Beg. As a result of this, Uzun Hasan Beg ceased to care for his son. Afterwards, Uğurlu Mehmed rebelled against his father and took refuge to the Ottomans. Fâtih Sultan Mehmed welcomed him and got him married to his daughter Gevherhan Sultan. Of this marriage, Göde Ahmed was born. Uğurlu Mehmed was killed in the rebellion he attempted against his father. Because of that reason, Fâtih Sultan Mehmed had his grandson brought to Istanbul. Ahmed Beg was brought up with the Ottoman culture and education. After being the sovereign of the Aq-Qoyunlu State, Ahmed Beg intented to apply the Ottoman administrative system in his country. However, the tribal emirs opposing that intention disobeyed him. As a consequence, they killed Ahmed Beg in the war which was against him.
