Tip 2 Diyabetli Bireylerin Hastalığı Kabul Düzeyi ve Bakım Verenlerin Bakım Verme Yükü

Giriş: Diyabeti olan bireyler ile bakım verenler çoğunlukla duygusal ve sosyal ilişki içerisindedirler. Araştırma, diyabetli bireylerde hastalığı kabul düzeyi ve diyabetli bireylerin bakımından sorumlu bireylerde bakım verme yükünün belirlenmesi amacıyla kesitsel ve tanımlayıcı olarak yapılmıştır. Metod: Araştırma Eylül 2016–Nisan 2018 tarihleri arasında bir üniversite hastanesi Endokrin ve Metabololizma Polikliniği’nde yapılmıştır. Veri toplama araçları olarak diyabetli bireyler için “Diyabetli Birey Tanıtım Formu”, “Hastalığı Kabul Ölçeği”, bakım veren bireyler için “Bakım Veren Tanıtım Formu” ve “Bakım Verme Yükü Ölçeği” kullanılmıştır. Bulgular: Araştırmamıza katılan diyabetli bireylerin hastalığı kabul düzeyi (AIS) puan ortalaması 23.67±8.64, diyabetli bireylere bakım verenlerin bakım verme yükü puan ortalaması ise 34.78±17.56 olarak bulunmuştur. AIS puanı ile diyabetli bireyin çalışma durumu, eğitim düzeyi, diyabet eğitimi alma durumu, göz ve böbrek komplikasyonları varlığı arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir fark olduğu saptanmıştır (p>0.05). Level of Acceptance of Illness by Persons with Type 2 Diabetes and Burden on Caregivers

Introduction: Individuals with diabetes and their caregivers are mostly engaged in emotional and social relations. The survey is of cross-sectional and descriptive nature conducted to determine the level of illness acceptance by individuals with diabetes and care burden of those who give care to these individuals. Methodology: The survey was conducted during the period September 2016–April 2018 at the Endocrine and Metabolism Polyclinic of a university hospital. Data collection tools were “Patient Description Form” and “Illness Acceptance Scale” for individuals with diabetes, and “Caregiver Description Form” and “Care Burden Scale” for caregivers. Findings: It is found that the average illness acceptance score (AIS) of diabetics covered by the survey is 23.67±8.64, and average care burden score of caregivers is 34.78±17.56. there is statistically significant difference in AIS scores with respect to employment status, education level, training in diabetes, and presence of eye and kidney complications (p>0.05).
