Sülük Terapisine Bağlı Kutanöz Lenfoid Reaksiyon

Medikal sülük tedavisi eskiden beri çeşitli hastalıkların tedavisinde kullanılmaktadır. Günümüzde popüler hale gelen bu tedavi konusunda zaman zaman hastalar kendi hastalıklarının tedavisi için kullanıp kullanamayacakları konusunda klinisyenlerden tavsiye istemektedir. Medikal sülük tedavisi yararlı olduğu kadar bu terapinin çeşitli komplikasyonları da olabilir. Bu komplikasyonlar ve yan etkiler konusunda hastalara muhakkak bilgi verilmelidir. Hastalardan mutlaka aydınlatılmış onam alınmalıdır. Bu olguda hashimato tiroiditine yararlı olacağına inanarak sülük terapisi yaptıran bayan hasta tartışılacaktır. Hastanın sülük yapışma yerlerinde aylardır geçmeyen dermatit yakınması vardır ve bu yakınma için çeşitli merkezlere başvurmuş onlarca ilaç kullanmış ancak sonuç alamamıştır. Bu süreçte psikolojisi bozulan hasta şu an psikiyatrik tedavi görmektedir. Bu olgu sunumunun amacı sülük terapisinin yan etkileri ve komplikasyonları ile ilgili farkındalık yaratmaktır.

Cutaneous Lymphoid Reaction Due to Leech Therapy; Case Presentation

Medical leech therapy has long been used in the treatment of various diseases. From time to time, the patients ask the clinicians for advice on whether they may use this therapy, which has today become popular, for the treatment of their own diseases. Medical leech therapy may be useful, however, it may also involve several complications. Patients should absolutely be informed about these complications and side effects. Informed consent must be obtained from the patients. In this case, a female patient who has had leech therapy believing it would be beneficial for Hashimoto’s thyroiditis will be discussed. The patient complaining of dermatitis at the areas of leech attachment that have not been cured for months sought for medical advice at various centers for this complaint and used tens of medicines, but could not achieve an improvement. The patient who fell into a depression during this period is currently undergoing a psychiatric treatment. The purpose of this case report is to raise awareness about the side effects and complications of leech therapy.
