Sapmanın Tıpsallaştırılması ve Tıbbın Toplumsal Normaliteyi Sağlama İşlevi

Bu çalışmada temel amaç hastalık, sapma ve tıpsallaştırma arasındaki ilişkiyi analiz etmektir. Bu çerçeve içinde de hastalığın nasıl sapan davranış ve sapan davranışın da nasıl hastalık olduğu, tıpsallaştırma süreci bağlamında önem kazanmaktadır. Tıpsallaştırma, farklı düzeylerde ortaya çıkan özel sosyal ve tıbbi formasyonlara sahip bir sosyal süreçtir. Daha önce sapan ya da suç olarak tanımlanan davranış ya da durumlann, hastalık olarak tanımlandığı bir içeriğe sahiptir. Bu tür bir yeniden tanımlama da elbette hem birey hem de toplum açısından önemli sonuçlara sahip olacaktır.

The Medicalization of Deviance and the Function of Medicine in Providing Social Normality

The main purpose is to search the relationship between illness, deviance and medicalization. In this context how is an illness becomes a deviant behavior and how is a deviant behavior becomes an illness present a connection among medicalization. Medicalization is a social process within which specific social and medical formations emerge in different levels. It has behaviors and conditions that were once defined as deviant or criminal are now being defined as diseases. Such a redefinition has important consequences both for the individual and for society.
