MLS Futbolcularının Yıllık Ücretlerini Etkileyen Faktörlerin Yarı Parametrik Regresyon Modeli İle İncelenmesi
Yarı parametrik regresyon modelleri regresyon modelinde hem parametrik hem de parametrik olmayan ilişkileri yansıtması nedeniyle sürekli değişkenlerin bağımlı değişken üzerine etkisinin incelenmesi bakımından daha fazla esneklik ve bilgi sağlamaktadır. Bu nedenle bu çalışmada 2022 yılında MLS futbolcularının ücretlerine etki eden faktörler yarı parametrik regresyon modeli ile incelenmiştir. Yarı parametrik regresyon sonucuna göre yaşın ücret üzerinde olumlu bir etkisi olduğu, ancak bu etkinin yaklaşık 30 yaşından sonra azaldığı bulunmuştur. Öte yandan siyahi futbolcuların Latin ve Beyaz futbolculardan ücret farkı istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bulunmamışken, Amerikalı futbolcuların ise Amerikalı olmayan futbolculara göre ortalama ücretleri istatistiksel olarak anlamlı şekilde daha az elde edilmiştir. Futbolcunun performansı da ücretine olumlu yönde etki etmektedir. Bu performansların en önemlileri gol ve asist sayısıdır. Popülerliğin ücret üzerindeki etkisi ise önce artan, sonra azalan, sonra artan şekilde elde edilmiştir. Son olarak, olabilirlik oranı testi sonucuna göre yarı parametrik modelin parametrik modele göre futbolcu ücretlerini daha iyi açıkladığı görülmüştür.
