Kolektifliğin Varoluşsal Mimarlığı: Dessau Törten Konutlarına Görüngübilimsel Bir Yaklaşım

Dessau Törten yerleşimi, mimar Walter Gropius tarafından 20. yüzyılın başlarında tasarlanıp uygulanmış Bauhaus’un ilk sosyal konut denemesidir; organik mimarisiyle ve yapıldığı dönem için bir hayli yeni olan farklı mekânsal düzenlemeleriyle konut sorununa çözüm getirilmeye çalışılmıştır. Bunu yaparken ortaklaşa yaşam anlayışının doğallığı yalın mimari tasarım yoluyla vurgulanmıştır. Geleneksel olanla yeni olanın birlikte harmanlandığı bu konutlar, bu özellikleriyle 21. yüzyılın konut anlayışına ışık tutmaktadır. Bu bağlamda, Dessau Törten yerleşimini, kendine özgü içerik ve ortam içersinde değerlendirmek, geçmişin öyküsünü bugünün gerçeklerinin satır aralarında okumak bakımından önemlidir. Bu makale, yerleşimin kendi varoluş sürecini yeniden yorumlanan formu ve yeni mekânsal ilişkileriyle çözümlemeye ve anlamaya yönelik hazırlanmıştır. Bu çalışmada araştırma alanı olarak seçilen Dessau Törten konut yerleşimi, varoluşsal mekân bağlamında görüngübilimsel yaklaşımla bütüncül olarak ele alınmıştır. Buna göre, nitel araştırma yöntemi kullanılarak alanyazın taraması yapılmış, yazılı ve görsel belgeler incelenmiş ve yorum- bilgisi tekniğiyle yorumlanmıştır. Sonuç olarak, elde edilen veriler, mekân tasarımı ve tasarımcı- kullanıcı ilişkisi yönünden değerlendirilmiş ve öneriler getirilmiştir. Bu çalışmanın amacı, Dessau Törten konut yerleşimi üzerinden bugünün kullanıcı-mekân-yapılı çevre etkileşimine açıklık getirmektir. Bu çalışmanın, konut yerleşimlerine yönelik farklı bir bakış açısı sunmasından dolayı alan- yazına katkı yapacağı ve araştırmacılara, bu yönde yapacakları araştırmalarda ve tasarımcılara, bu çevreler için yapacakları tasarımlarında yol gösterici olacağı düşünülmektedir.

Existential Architecture of Collectivity: A Phenomenological Approach to the Dessau Törten Housing

Dessau Törten settlement is the first social housing experiment of Bauhaus, which was designed and implemented at the beginning of the 20th century by architect Walter Gropius. With its organic architecture, juxtaposed cubic clusters of a variety of buildings and structures for that period many new different spatial arrangements, which have tried to give a solution to the housing problem. In doing so, the naturalness of the concept of common life is emphasized through simple architectural design. Customary and new is blended together with this housing design and sheds light on understanding the housing of 21st century at the same time. In this context, to peruse the settlement of Dessau Törten within its own content and ambit is important on account of reading the story of history between the lines of today’s facts. This article is intended for analyzing and understanding its own existence within the reinterpreted form and new spatial relations of the settlement that has occurred in its duration. Dessau Törten housing settlement, which was selected as a field of this research, was studied in the context of existential space as a phenomenological approach in a holistic view. Accordingly, the settlement was analyzed by using qualitative research methods. Hence, after a literature review, written and visual documentation was examined and interpreted in hermeneutics. As a result, the obtained data has been evaluated in terms of spatial design and the designer-user relationship and proposes was made on that subject. The aim of this study is to clarify the interaction between today’s user-space-built environments through Dessau Törten housing settlement. This study will contribute to the literature with its different view and may guide researchers and designers in their research and design in that respect.
