Energy analysis of Chiller-Dry Cooler in air conditioning applications
Effective and productive use of new technology and products for sustainable energy is very important. Chiller-dry cooler couple, which have a wide application in both residential and industrial areas, is considered in this respect. Depending on the outside temperatures, the dry coolers can be operated stand alone or coupled with the chiller. In this study, energy analyzes of the chiller-dry cooler couple were carried out based on the bin values belonging to eight provinces representing different climatic regions in Turkey. Three different scenarios were applied according to the annual value of the bin on basis of 365 days and 24/7 in which air conditioning is required. Consequently, energy savings and investment pay back time were determined.
