The effects of boron oxide powders on the tribological properties of brake pads
In this study, the Renault Clio car was produced by hot press method with boron oxide powder additive and the effect on the tribological properties of the boron oxide additive was experimentally investigated. In recent years, the use of environmentally friendly materials has become important, so boron oxide has been used in the brake pad. Also it aimed at providing benefits to the national economy in the selection of these materials. Clio commercial pads were used for comparison. Friction linings wear testing of samples are carried out Chase type device. The effect of the boron oxide additive brake wear on wear friction performance has been investigated in comparison with the results of commercial brake pad. As a result, it was observed that the boron oxide contribution has a positive effect on the friction coefficient.
