Pityriasiform Eruption Associated with İmatinib
Imatinib is a chemotherapy drug which is known to be associated skin eruptions commonly. Maculopapular, erythematous eruptions, edema and especially peri-orbital edema arethe most common skin eruptions reported with imatinib. Pityriasiform eruptions, hypopigmentation, lichenoid reactions, pityriasis rosea, psoriasis, porphyria cutanea tarda, erythemanodosum are other reactions seen with imatinib less commonly. A 57-year-old male patient presented to dermatology outpatient clinic with an itchy rash all over his body. Hewas on medication with imatinib for gastrointestinal stromal tumor. He had round erythematous scaly plaques covering his body and extensor sides of all extremities. Histopathologicexamination of a biopsy sample revealed fi ndings compatible with pityriasis rosea. A diagnosis of pityriaisform eruption associated with imatinib was made. We aimed to present thiscase for exhibiting a rather rare reported skin reaction with imatinib, which is known to be related with particular skin reactions commonly.
