Yabancı dil olarak Türkçe öğretiminde kullanılan ders materyalindeki kavramsal metaforların tespitine yönelik bir çalışma

Bu araştırmanın amacı, Türkçe metaforların tespitine yönelik bir standart oluşturan “metafor tespit prosedürleri”ni belirlemek ve bunlara dayalı olarak da bir metafor belirleme çalışması gerçekleştirmektir. Literatürdeki metafor çalışmalarında daha çok metaforun ne olduğu, önemi, yapısı, dilde nasıl yapılandığı gibi konuların ele alındığı ancak metaforların nasıl tespit edilebileceği üzerinde çok durulmadığı söylenebilir. Bunun sonucunda da neyin metafor olduğu konusunda belirsizlikler yaşanmaktadır. Bu problemden hareketle öncelikle bir literatür taraması gerçekleştirilmiş ve Türkçe literatürde metaforların tespitine yönelik oluşturulmuş bir yönerge çalışmasına rastlanamamıştır. Buna karşın uluslararası literatürde üç farklı metafor tespiti prosedürünün yer aldığı görülmüştür. Sonrasında belirlenen bu prosedürler, kendi aralarında içerikleri açısından değerlendirilmiş ve diğer iki prosedürün geliştirilmiş bir hâli olmasından dolayı çalışmada kullanılmak üzere Metaphor Identification Procedure / Vrije University (Vrije Üniversitesinin Metafor Tespit Prosedürü) adlı prosedürde karar kılınmıştır. Bu metafor tespit prosedüründe doküman analizi yöntemi kullanılarak Yunus Emre Enstitüsü Yedi İklim Türkçe B2 Seviyesi Ders Kitabı (2018) adlı veri kaynağına uygulanmıştır. Sonuç olarak veri kaynağında altı mutluluk, beş üzüntü, dört öfke ve üç korku olmak üzere toplam on sekiz metaforik ifade tespit edilerek bağlı oldukları kavramsal metaforlar ortaya çıkarılmıştır. Ayrıca bu çalışmayla MIPVU’da yer alan adımların, Türkçe için uygulanabilir olduğu ve ulaşılan her duygu metaforunun tespitinde aynı standardı sunduğu görülmüştür.

A study on the determination of conceptual metaphors in the course material used in teaching Turkish as a foreign language

The aim of this research is to determine the "metaphor detection procedures", which constitute a standard for the detection of Turkish metaphors, and to carry out a metaphor determination study based on these. It can be said that in metaphor studies conducted in the literature, subjects such as what metaphor is, its importance, its structure, how it is structured in a spoken language are emphasized but how metaphors can be determined is not emphasized. As a result, there is uncertainty about what a metaphor is. Based on this problem, a literature review was carried out and no study was found that created a guideline for the determination of metaphors in the Turkish literature. On the other hand, it has been observed that there are three different metaphor detection procedures in the international literature. These procedures, which were determined later, were evaluated among those in terms of their content and since it was an improved version of the other two procedures, it was decided to use the Metaphor Identification Procedure / Vrije University procedure. This metaphor detection procedure was also applied to the data source “Yunus Emre Enstitüsü Yedi İklim Türkçe” B2 Level Textbook (2018) using document analysis method. As a result, a total of eighteen metaphorical expressions, six of which are happiness, five of sadness, four of anger, and three of fear, were identified in the data source, to where they are connected. Furthermore, based on this study, it has been observed that the steps in MIPVU are applicable for Turkish and offer the same standards in determination of each emotion metaphor reached.
