Development of Student Loyalty Instrument
As the number of higher education organizations and mobility of students are increasing being a prestigious and preferable university is getting more important. Student loyalty is a relatively new term that is highly related with student options for university selection, student attendance and continue to program and support for the university and other graduates after graduation. The aim of this study is to develop a valid instrument to measure student loyalty. For this aim, researcher developed a 47-item pilot form. After taking the opinions of experts and testing the pilot form with students, new form was completed by 370 students. Analysis of dataset presented an eight-factored 34-item construct. According to the results, instrument achieved to explain %63.198 of total variance. CFA analysis which is applied to EFA results indicated acceptable goodness of fit scores [χ2/df=3.04 p=.000 ; RMSEA=.08; GFI=.78; AGFI=.74; NFI=.91; NNFI=.93; SRMR=.08]. Eight sub-factors of the instrument were named as, “reliance”, “loyalty”, “technology”, ”department”, “academic integrity”, ”allegiance”, “social integrity” and “facilities” respectively. Cronbach Alfa coefficient was found as .926 for the whole instrument
