Efes Artemisionu’na İlişkin Yeni Yazıtlar II: Hellenistik Kararnameler

Bu makalede, Efes’in Helenistik Dönem’e ait, parçalı halde korunmuş birkaç kararnamesi tanıtılmaktadır. Söz konusu kararnameler in-situ olarak Artemision’a yerleştirilmişlerdir ve bu nedenle Antik Dönem ve sonrasında Artemision’dan yapı malzemesi alınması ve bunların başka binalarda devşirme malzeme olarak kullanılması sürecinin araştırılmasında bir tür “rehber fosil” niteliği taşımaktadırlar. Aslen Artemision’da dikilmiş olan ve üzerinde çeşitli kararnamelerin bulunduğu bir blok daha sonra bir heykel kaidesine dönüştürülmüştür. Bizans Sarayı olarak adlandırılan yapıda 1955 yılında bulunan kaidenin arka yüzünde yer alan yazıtların çoğu 1960 yılında yayımlanmıştır. Kaidenin üst ve alt profillerinde yer alan harf kalıntıları ise şimdiye kadar yayımsız kalmıştır. Bu yazıtların değerlendirilmesi sayesinde söz konusu taşıyıcının aslen Artemision’un temenosu içindeki bir yapıya ait ante bloğu olduğu saptanmıştır.

New Texts on the Artemision of Ephesos II: Hellenistic Decrees

The Hellensitic decrees from Ephesos were originally displayed within the temenos of Artemis Ephesia and can therefore be used as a kind of epigraphic ‘Leitfossil’ for the reconstruction of spoliation processes in antiquity as well as thereafter. In this article new fragmentary decrees are published. The block carrying these inscriptions was found 1955 in the so-called Byzantine Palace where it was re-used as the base for a column. Although the inscriptions on the bottom of the base were already published in 1960, the fragmentary text on the moulding has hitherto not been edited. As a consequence, the block could not be recognized as that of the antae of a building situated within the temenos of Artemis that has still to be identified.
