THE EFFECTS ON TOTAL FACTOR PRODUCTIVITY OF R&D INVESTMENTS A PANEL DATA ANALYSISON OECD COUNTRIES: (1994-2014)

Advances in technology level with endogenous growth theory often associated with R&D investment and impacts on total factor productivity of investment in R&D in different qualities being investigated in theoretical and empirical levels. In this study, effects on the total factor productivity (TFP) of R&D investment in the OECD member countries has been examined as econometric with a new generation of panel data analysis methodology for the period 1994-2014. In order to the effects on TFP of R&D investments more consistently to be examined the 29 OECD member countries according to size of the total R&D investments in the OECD-1 and the OECD-2 were included in the analysis subgroup. This aspect of the study was to investigate the macroeconomic level the OECD and OECD-2-one group of countries in the long term is how the effects of investment in R&D in different qualities on the sustainability of economic growth. As a result, the review period while both groups of countries the effects on TFP of all R&D investments in different qualities that the positiveand the magnitude of this positive effect as expected in the OECD-1 group was found to be much higher. However, the study, the OECD-1 and the OECD-2 groups in accordance with their impact on TFP universities and a similarity in terms of realization of the R&D investments by the public sector, it is determined that the private sector and total R&D investment in terms of a difference occurs
