Tarihçilerin bir kısmına göre Yahudilik tarihte bilinen en eski monoteist dindir. Bu nedenle de kendisinden sonra ortaya çıkan Hıristiyanlık ve İslam’a kaynaklık ettiği düşünülür. Fakat Tevrat evrensel ve mutlak hakim bir tek tanrı anlayışını çok net ortaya koymaz. Tevrat’ta Yahve, kendisinin sadece İsrailoğullarının tanrısı olduğunu söyler. Hem Tanah’taki tanrı düşüncesinin gelişimi, hem zaman zaman İsrailoğulların başka tanrı ya da tanrıçalara tapınmaları Yahudilikteki Tanrı fikrini tartışmalı hale getirmiştir. Bu anlamda Aşerah ismi Tanah’ta geçen antik bir Kenan tanrıçasıdır. Bu yazıda Tanah'ta kırk yerde ismi zikredilen  ve arkeolojik kazılar sonucunda ortaya çıkarılan yazıtlarda ismi Yahve ile beraber geçen Aşera’yı inceleyerek Yahudilikteki Tanrıça inancının varlığını ele alacağız. İlk önce Aşera’nın anlamı ve tarihsel gelişimine yer verip sonra Tanah’ta Aşera’dan nasıl bahsedildiği ve son olarak da arkeolojik çalışmalarda aşera ile ilgili bulgulara yer verilecektir. 

According to some historians, Judaism is the oldest known monotheist religion in history. For this reason, it is thought that Christianity and Islam have developed out of itself. However, the Torah has not revealed the concept of a universal and absolute dominant one God. In the Torah, Yahweh says that he is the only god of Israel.  Both the development of concept of God in Tanah and the adoration to the occasional other gods or goddesses of the Israelites have made controversial the idea of God in Judaism.In this sense, Asherah is an ancient Canaanite goddess that has been mentioned in Tanah. In ancient Semitic religion, she is a mother goddess who appears in a number of ancient sources.   In this article we will discuss the existence of Goddess faith in Judaism by examining the Asherah, who has been mentioned in the forty places in Tanah together with the name Yahweh and in the inscriptions found that after the archaeological excavations. First of all, it will include the significance and historical development of the Asherah, then how Asherah has been mentioned in the Tanah, and finally, findings related to the Asherah in archaeological studies..
