Ön Örgütleyicilerin Okuduğunu Anlama Üzerindeki Etkileri

Bu araştırmanın amacı, ön örgütleyicilerin öğrencilerin İngilizce okuduğunu anlama başarıları üzerindeki etkilerini ve bu etkilerin cinsiyetle ilişkilerini incelemektir. Araştırma 62 (41 kız, 21 erkek) 9. sınıf öğrencileri üzerinde, İngilizce Okuduğunu Anlama dersinde yürütülmüştür. Araştırmada kontrol gruplu öntest-sontest deneysel araştırma modeli kullanılmıştır. Deney Grubuna ön örgütleyiciler verilmiş, Kontrol Grubuna ise verilmemiştir. Araştırmanın verileri, Çoktan Seçmeli İngilizce Okuduğunu Anlama Başarı Testi ile toplanmıştır.Araştırma sonunda, Deney ve Kontrol Gruplarındaki öğrencilerin okuduğunu anlama başarıları arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir farklılık bulunmamış, Deney ve Kontrol Gruplarındaki kız ve erkek öğrencilerin okuduğunu anlama başarıları arasında bir farklılığın olmadığı saptanmıştır.

The Effects of Advance Organizers on Reading Comprehension

The purpose of this research is to study the effects of advance organizers on English reading comprehension and the relationship with gender. The research was conducted on 62 (41 females, 21 males) ninth grade students, in English reading comprehension course. Pretest-posttest experimental design with control group was used for the research. Advance organizers were presented to the experiment group, whereas the control group received no advance organizers. The data of the research were gathered with Reading Comprehension Test.The results of the study indicate that, there was no statistically significant difference between reading comprehension achievement of students in the experiment and control groups. There was no statistically significant difference between reading comprehension achievement of the male and female students both in the experiment and control groups.
