Özet: Kur'âna göre Hz. Muhammed s.a.v. şair değildir. Şiir yazmasını öğrenmemiştir. Bazen söylediği vezne ve kafiyeye uygun sözler ise, şiir kastıyla söylenmemiş sözlerdir. Kur'an ise bir şiir kitabı değildir. Çünkü şairler,söze göre mânâ bulurlar. Kur'anda ise ayetler, mânâya göre vahyedilmiş sözlerden oluşmaktadır. Diğer taraftan Kur'ân, şiirin her türlü hayal ve yalanlarından uzaktır. Ancak Kur'ân bir sanat olarak şiire karşı çıkmaz. Şiirin yalanı kullanmasına, inançsızlığı ve ahlaksızlığı yaymasına karşı çıkar. İnanan ve salih amel işleyen şairleri, kendilerine sapıkların uyduğu şairlerden ayrı tutar.

Summary: According to the Qur'an, Prophet Muhammed is not a poet. He had not learned to write poetry. He didn't aim to write poetry when he said some ryhmed words. The Qur'an is not a book of poetry, for poets find meanings for words but, in the Qur'an verses are revealed for the meaning. However, Qur'an accepts poetry as a work of art. On the other hand, it does not agree to use poetry as a tool of spreading untruth, disbelief and immorality. Therefore it distinguishes between the believing and unbelieving poets.
