Winds of Change in the English Language- Air of Peril for Native Speakers?

İngilizce dünyada en hızlı değişime uğrayan ve en çok karmaşıklaşan dillerden biridir. Bu dili yeni yeni kullanmaya başlayan insanlar bile bu dili pasif bir şekilde almamakta ama onu etkilemekte, değiştirmekte ve bir çok yerel İngilizce kullanımlarının ve İngilizce sözcüklü kreolelerin ortaya çıkmasına katkıda bulunmaktadırlar. Buna ek olarak, gittikçe artan sayıda ülkede İngilizce ders programlarının da dili olmak durumunda kalmıştır ki bu durumda bu dili anadil olarak kullanan insanların dilsel özellikleri kaybolmakta ya da değişime uğramaktadır. Bu özel dilbilimsel olgu dil öğretimi sınıflarına önemli etkisi bulunmaktadır. Bu çalışmanın konusu dabu olguyu irdelemektir.

English today is one of the most hybrid and rapidly changing languages in the world. New users of the language are not just passively absorbing, but actively shaping it, breeding a variety of regional Englishes, as well as pidgins and English-lexified creoles. Also, as in an increasing number of countries English is becoming an element of core education, a near-universal basic skill, native-speaker norms are losing both in relevance and in reverence. This unique linguistic phenomenon has immediate consequences for the language classroom which is the subject of this present paper.
