Evrensel bir mesaja sahip olduklarını iddia eden dinlerin mensuplarından “ötekiler”e mesajlarını ulaştırmasını istediği bilinmektedir. Evrensel dinlerden bir kısmının takipçileri ötekileri sadece imana davet ederlerken, diğer bir kısmı özellikle Hıristiyanlar sadece imana davet etmez aynı zamanda  misyoner aktivite adı altında her türlü yöntemi kullanarak ötekileri kazanmaya uğraşırlar. Hıristiyanlığın Misyonun kurucusu olarak kabul edilen Pavlus’tan itibaren de Hıristiyanlığın misyoner faaliyetleri artarak devam etmiştir. Bu misyoner aktiviteler gittikçe daha sistematize olmuş ve  ilerleyen zamanda özel bir teoloji olmuştur. Tüm bunlarla birlikte bu sistematik faaliyetlerin en önemli ayağını da araştırma kuruluşları oluşturmaktadır. Bu makalede biz, Hıristiyan misyonerlerin daha başarılı faaliyet yürütmesi için çeşitli teşkilatlarca hazırlanan farklı istatistikler bağlamında dünya dinleri ve mensuplarının 20 ve 21. yüzyıldaki durumlarını ortaya koymaya çalışacağız.

As is well know those religions which have argued that they have a universal message ask their adherents to proclaim this message to the others. However, while followers of some of universal religions only witnessing their faith to the others, the others namely Christians not only witnessing their faith but also try to gain the others by using every means under the name of missionary activities.  AfterSt. Paulwho has been accepted as the founder of mission, the missionary activities of Christianity have been carried on by increasing. In doing so these missionary activities has been systematized and in the course of time it became a special theology. However, research organizations constitute the most important aspect of these systematic activities.   In this article, we try to illustrate the situations of world religions and their members in the 20 and 21st century by taking into consideration varied statistics, which have been prepared by different mission organizations in order to help their members during his missionary activities.
