Ülkemizin en köklü resmi kurumlarından birisi olan Diyanet İşleri Başkanlığı, kuruluş kanununda kendi misyonunu belirlemiştir. Bu misyon toplumun inanç, ibadet ve ahlak yönünden aydınlatılmasıdır. Ancak Diyanet son dönemlerde söz konusu misyonunu aşmayı gerektiren pek çok meydan okumayla karşı karşıyadır. Dinlerarası diyalog süreci, Diyanet’in henüz güçlü bir karşılık veremediği bu meydan okumalardan birisini ifade etmektedir. Diyanet’in bu sorunu bazen kurumun resmi sıfatından bazen de vizyon eksikliğinden kaynaklanmaktadır. Ancak bu sorunun üstesinden gelinmesi, öncelikle Diyanet’in diğer dinlerle ilişkiler sürecinde resmi/politik tutumun ötesine geçerek İslam düşüncesine dayanan teolojik bir perspektifin ve buna bağlı olarak uygulanabilir bir metodun tespitini gerektirmektedir.

The Presidency of Religious Affairs of Turkey (the Diyanet), which is one of the rooted official institution of our country, had stated its mission in the establishment enaction. That mission is enlightenment of society in respect of faith, worship and ethic. Instead of that, the Diyanet is face to face of so many challenges which exceed its usual mission. The period of interreligions dialouge is one of these challenges. That issue sometimes is originated from its official nature and sometimes its vision disability. But, the overcoming this issue is required that first of all, the the Diyanet has to determinate a theological perspective which is based on Islamic thought and has to determine feasible/applicable method related to that, while going beyond its official status in period of the interreligious relations.
