Postmenopozal dönemde endometrial poliplerin obezite ile ilişkisi

Amaç: Postmenopozal dönemde endometrial biyopsi yapılan hastalarda endometrial polip sıklığı ve obezite ile ilişkisi incelenmiştir. Yöntem: Ocak 2016- Haziran 2019 yılları arasında FSH değeri >30 olan ve en az bir yıldır adet görmeyen menopozdaki hastalarda farklı endikasyonlarla endometrial biyopsi yapılan toplam 310 hasta retrospektif olarak incelenmiştir. Bulgular: En sık biyopsi endikasyonunun %53.8 ile postmenopozal kanama olduğu izlendi. Patoloji sonuçlarında endometrial polip oranının %25.80 olduğu saptandı. Vücut kitle indeksine göre hastalar gruplandırıldığında VKİ 25’in altında olan olgularda %19.65, VKİ 25 ve üzerinde olan hastalarda %26.89 oranında endometrial polip gözlendi. Sonuç: Vücut kitle indeksi 25’in üzerinde olan hastalarda endometrial polip oranı yaklaşık %7 daha fazla olmasına rağmen VKİ 25’in altında olan hastalarla aralarında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir fark saptanmamıştır.

Evaluation of the relationship between endometrial polyps and obesity in postmenopausal period

Aim: The aim of this study to investigate the relationship of obesity and postmenopausal endometrial polyps. Method: 310 patients with FSH> 30 between January 2016 and June 2019 who underwent endometrial biopsy with different indications were included in the study. Results: The most common indication for biopsy was postmenopausal bleeding with 53.8%. In pathology results, the rate of endometrial polyps was found 25.80%. When the patients were grouped according to body mass index (BMI), endometrial polyps were observed in 19.65% of patients with BMI below 25, and 26.89% in patients with BMI of 25 and above. Conclusion: Although the endometrial polyps rate is about 7% higher in patients with BMI above 25, there was no statistically significant difference between patients with BMI below 25.
