Kanserle İlgili Alternatif Tıp İçerikli Web Sitelerinin İçerik Analizi

Bu çalışmanın amacı, kanserle ilgili alternatif tıp içerikli web sitelerinin kişileri etkileme potansiyelini değerlendirmektir. Bu amaçla, “kanser ve alternatif tıp” konusu ile ilgili 30 web sitesi belirlenmiş ve nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden içerik analizi tekniğiyle incelenmiştir.  İncelenen sitelerin %90’ında kanser için doğrudan bir ürün ya da hizmet sunulmaktadır. Bu sitelerin %73’ünde önerilen tedavi yönteminin tedavi edici/iyileştirici olduğu iddia edilmekte, bu tedavilerin geçerliliği ve güvenilirliğini ortaya koymak amacıyla TV programları ve röportaj görüntüleri (%46,7) ile hastalardan gelen teşekkür notları ve mailler (%46,7) kullanılmaktadır. Sitelerin %50’sinin modern tıbbi yöntemlere, %40’ının tıbbi ilaçlara karşı olumsuz tutum içinde olduğu bulunmuştur. Çalışmamızda, incelenen sitelerin önemli bir kısmının modern tıbba karşı olumsuz bir tutum içinde olduğu ve sundukları alternatif tedavileri olumladıkları bulunmuştur.  Aynı zamanda bu tedavi yöntemlerinin gücü ve güvenirliliğini ispat etmeye yönelik çeşitli yöntemlere başvurdukları tespit edilmiştir. Sonuç olarak, bu sitelerin ziyaretçilerini etkileme potansiyeline sahip olduğu belirlenmiştir.

Content Analysis of Websites Concerning Alternative Medicine with Cancer

The purpose of this study is to evaluate cancer-related web sites content alternative medicine that their the potential to effect visitors. For this purpose the study, identified 30 web sites that listed “the cancer and alternative medicine” in the subject. These sites were examined using content analysis which is one of the qualitative research methods. In 90% of sites examined, a product or service for cancer was directly presented. 73% of the web sites that proposed a product or service claimed to be therapeutic also TV programs and images of interviews (46.7%), and thank you notes and e-mails from patients (46.7%) are used in order to demonstrate their strength and reliability of product or service. Those sites were found hold a negative attitude towards modern medical methods (50%) and medical drugs (40%).
