Renal involvement in Sjögren's Syndrome (SjS) is mainly in the form of tubulointerstitial nephritis, causing renal tubular dysfunction. In this respect, hypokalemia and osteomalacia are rare complications of primary SjS, mainly due to renal tubular acidosis (RTA). Hereby, we report a 27-year-old Turkish woman, being remarkable with developing two rare (hypokalemic periodic paralysis and osteomalacia) but severe complications of SjS, both of which being due to RTA.
