Heidegger, 2. Dünya Savaşı'nın artık sona erme eğilimi gösterdiği 1944-45 kışında üç yazı kaleme alır. Yazılar farklı zamanlarda ayrı ayrı basılmakla beraber ancak 1995 yılında Feldweg-Gespräche (Kıryolu-Sohbetleri) adı altında toplu eserleri içerisine dâhil edilerek yayımlanır. Yazıların her biri iki veya üç kişi arasında geçen diyaloglar şeklinde tasarlanmış olup her diyalogda karakterlerden bir tanesi ya bilgi birikimi ya da yaşam tecrübesiyle karşı karakter veya karakterlerden farklılık göstermektedir. Burada çevirisi yapılan bölüm kitabın üçüncü ve son bölümünde yer almaktadır. Sohbetin mekânı olarak Rusya'daki savaş esiri kampı seçilmiştir ve genç ile yaşlı bir adam arasında geçmektedir. Metnin ana konusunu yeryüzünün ve insanın çölleşmesi ve bu çölleşmenin kaynağının ne olduğu sorusu oluşturuyor. Ve bu soruya metinden hareketle verilecek cevap: Söz konusu çölleşme dünyanın, yeryüzünün ve insanın Sein [Varlık] tarafından terk edilmesinden kaynaklanmaktadır

Heidegger writes up three manuscripts in the winter of 1944-45 when the World War II is about to end. The manuscripts have been published in different dates separately, nevertheless, only in the year of 1995, being included in collected works; they have been published under the title of Feldweg-Gespräche (Country Path Conversations). Each manuscript is designed as dialogues between two or three people, and one of the characters differs from the other character, or characters with his knowledge or life experience in each dialogue. The part translated here appears in the third and the last part of the book. As the setting of the conversation, war prison camp in Russia has been chosen and the conversation is between a young and an old man. The desertification of the earth and human and the source of this desertification constitute the major issue of the manuscript. And the answer to the question with reference to the manuscript: the desertification in question stems from the fact that the earth, the world, and human have been abandoned by the Sein [Being]
