John stuart Mill'de sayının temellendirilmesi

Bu çalışmada, Mill'in sayı anlayışını ele alacağız. Mili, kendinden önceki filozofların tersine sayıyı, deneyci ve a posteriori temeller üzerinde oluşturur. Çalışmamızda Mili öncesinde sayıya ilişkin yaklaşımlara ve Mill'in sayıyla bağlantılı bilgi kuramsal görüşlerine değindikten sonra, Mill'de sayının kuruluşunu inceleyeceğiz. Sonrasında ise Mill'e yapılan eleştirileri ve Mill'in sayı anlayışının günümüzdeki geçerliliği üzerinde duracağız.

John stuart Mill's foundation of number

In this paper, I will deal with Mill's foundation of number. In contrast to other philosophers before him, Mill founded number on empiricist and a posteriori grounds. In order to examine Mill's views on number, I'll first give a brief account of Mill's epistemology and then I'll analyse his arguments concerning forming numbers. At last I'll try to make a critical assessment his foundation of numbers.
