ARISTOTELES'İN PHILIA KAVRAYIŞI VE MODERN FELSEFİ TARTIŞMALAR

Bu çalışma Aristoteles'in, felsefenin başat konularından biri olan dostluk kavramına ilişkin düşüncelerine ve bu düşünceler üzerine modern araştırmacılar arasında süregelen tartışmaların bir kısmına odaklanmaktadır. Bu bağlamda öncelikle Aristoteles'in philia kavrayışının özünü oluşturan yarar, zevk ve karakter erdemine dayalı, üç bölümlü dostluk sınıflamasından ve kavramsal anlamda dostluğu nasıl ele aldığından bahsedeceğiz. Ardından modern araştırmacıların Aristoteles'in dostluk kavrayışını ele alırken tartıştıkları şu soru üzerine odaklanacağız: Aristoteles'e göre kişinin kendi kendisiyle dostluğu nasıl olur? Böylece, bu çalışmada hem Aristoteles'in dostluğu ele alma yöntemi hem de modern araştırmacıların, Aristoteles'in kişinin kendi kendisiyle kurduğu dostluk üzerine getirdiği söylemleri nasıl yorumladıklarını ortaya koymaya çalışacağız.

ARISTOTLE'S PHILIA NOTION AND MODERN PHILOSOPHICAL DEBATES

This paper is focused on Aristotle's views about friendship notion, an important subject in philosophy, and on some of the ongoing debates among modern scholars concerning those views. First of all in this respect, we mention Aristotle's tripartite classification of friendship which is the core of the conception of his philia notion and how he treats this notion in conceptual terms. Afterwards, we concentrate on this question, which are taken into consideration by modern scholars while dealing with Aristotle's friendship notion: What self-love means according to Aristotle? Thus, in this paper we try to reveal both Aristotle's way of treating friendship and how modern scholars manage to interpret his claims about self-love.
