Televizyonda Protesto Görüntüleri: Egemen Haber Söylemlerinde Toplumsal Eylemler

Bu çalışma, Türkiye'de medyanın protesto eylemlerini temsil etme biçimi üzerinde durmaktadır. Türkiye'de medyanın yirminci yüzyılın son çeyreğinde yurttaş katılımının önemli bir aracı haline gelen toplumsal eylemler karşısındaki tutumunu örneklemek için, televizyon haberlerinde toplumsal eylemlere ilişkin egemen anlamların kuruluşu ve işleyişi ele alınmaktadır. Bu bağlamda, medyanın protesto eylem haberlerine ilişkin öncelikleri ve yeğlemeleri, eylemlerin hikaye ediliş tarzları, eylemi aklileştiren ve duygusallaştıran unsurların haber kurgusu içindeki konumu, egemen anlamların oluşturulma ve aktarılma biçimi, farklı eylem temalarına ilişkin anlamlandırma çerçeveleri üzerinde durulmaktadır.

lmages of Protest on Television: Public Demonstrations in The Dominant News Discourses

This study attempts to display the coverage of protest movements in the Turkish mass media. To exemplify the mass media's portrayal of protest movements, which became one of the most important means of citizen participation in the last decades, the television news are explored. In this regard, the study dwells upon the ideological priorities and the preferences highlighted in the news production process, the basic dynamics and the characteristics of the narration in television news, the narrative elements which rationalize and sentimentalize the collective action and the way in which the dominant meanings are reproduced in and transmitted through the news covering different types of collective action.
