Bu eser, Memlûklar’da toprak sistemini bütün yönleriyle ele almakta olup iktâʿ sistemini devletin işleyiş zihniyetinin temeli olarak görmektedir. Aynı zamanda bu çalışma hususi olarak Batılı araştırmacıların iddialarına antitez mahiyetinde kurgulanarak iktâʿ sisteminin feodalite, iktâʿ sahiplerinin feodal bey ve çiftçilerin de köle olduğuna esaslı bir itiraz yöneltmektedir. Bunun yanı sıra toprak sisteminde karşılaşılacak en ufak problemin devletin mukadderatını ciddi anlamda olumsuz etkileyeceğini vurgulamaktadır.

This work deals with the land system in the Mamluks in all its aspects and considers the iqtāʿ system as the basis of the mentality of the state’s functioning. At the same time, this work is specifically designed as an antithesis to the claims of Western scholars and raises a fundamental objection that the iqtāʿ system is feudalism, the iqtāʿ owners are feudal lords, and the farmers are slave. It also emphasises that the slightest problem in the land system would have a serious negative impact on the fate of the state.
