Kıbrıs Fatihi Lala Mustafa Paşa, Artvin bölgesinde bir kısım mülkü satın alarak kendi adına vakfetmiştir. Gerek vakfetme usulü gerekse vakıf senedindeki hükümler düşündürücü sonuçlan göstermektedir. Mülkün alınmasında hiçbir zor kullanılmamış ve sahiplerinin gönüllülüğü esas alınmış, vakfın kalıcılığı sağlam hukuki temellere oturtulmuş ve toplum menfaati gözetilmiştir.

Lala Mustafa Paşa, conqueror of Cyprus, bought some domains in the region of Artvin, and gifted them to the charity foundation (waqf) that he had founded. Both the means of founding the waqf, and the items put in the waqf regulations point to very interesting facts. Buying the domain was realised with the contest of its owners, and any obligation was out of question; and continuity of the waqf was warranted with fırm legal basis. The waqf directly targets to serve the society.
