Makalenin bu ikinci kısmında, Trabzon'un Osmanlı dönemindeki kısa tarihi anlatılmaktadır. Roma ve Bizans dönemlerinde Doğu Karadeniz'in en önemli limanı ve üssü olarak önemini koruyan Trabzon, Osmanlı döneminde bölgesel bir merkez olarak daha çok iktisat, ticaret ve kültürde öne çıkmış, son dönemlerde ise Rusya'nın yükselmesi ve Kafkaslara sarkmasıyla stratejik önemi tekrar artmıştır.

In the second part of the article, the author telis about short history of Trabzon under the Ottoman rule. The city, which had protected its importance during the Roman and Byzantine periods as the most important harbour in the Eastern Black Sea region and as a military base, was outstanding in the Ottoman time with its economic, commercial and cultural aspects as a regional center. During the last centuries of the empire, strategical importance of Trabzon increased due to rise of Russia and its expansion in the Caucasus.
