Nadir bir renal pelvis tümörü: Müsinöz kistadenokarsinom

Renal pelvis malignitelerinin çoğunluğunu ürotelyal karsinom oluşturur, ancak müsinöz kistadenokarsinom (MKA) oldukça nadir görülür. MKA'nın patogenezinde çeşitli teoriler ortaya atılsa da kesin etiyolojisi tam olarak bilinmemektedir. Bu olgu sunumunda nadir görülen MKA'lı bir olgunun histopatolojik özelliklerinin sunulması amaçlanmıştır. Olgumuz 68 yaşında erkek hasta olup sol yan ağrısı şikayeti ile hastanemize müracaat etti. Batın ultrasonografi ve manyetik rezonans görüntülemesinde sol böbrek ektazik görünümde olup birleşme eğiliminde olan çok sayıda kistik yapı ve milimetrik taşlar saptandı. Atrofik pyelonefritik böbrek düşünülerek olguya sol basit nefrektomi uygulandı. Nefrektomi materyalinin kesitlerinde müsin ile dolu çok sayıda kistik yapı ve MKA ile uyumlu histopatolojik görünüm mevcuttu. Olgunun nadir görülmesi, klinik ve radyolojik bulgularının atrofik kistik böbreği taklit etmesi nedeni ile histopatolojik özellikleri ve literatür bilgileri eşliğinde sunulması amaçlanmıştır

A rare renal pelvis tumor: Mucinous cystadenocarcinoma

Urothelial carcinomas are the most common neoplasms in the renal pelvis. However mucinous cystadenocarcinomas (MCA) are very rare in this localization. Although some theories are attributed on the patogenesis of MCA, its exact etiology is not known. Herein, we present histopathological characteristic of a case with MCA. Multiple cystic lesions and millimetric calculi with ectasia of the left kidney were detected by abdominal ultrasound and magnetic resonance imaging. Left simple nephrectomy was performed because of a pre-diagnosis of atrophic pyonephrotic kidney. The sections of the nephrectomized kidney revealed, multilocular mucinous cysts and histopathological appearance of MCA. We aimed to present this rare case mimicking atrophic cystic kidney with clinical, radiological findings, and histopathological characteristics in the lights of literature.
